Bruce Fisch's recently published text, Epilepsy and Intensive Care Monitoring, is a must-have for anyone is wants an "all-in-one" cutting edge review of the rapid advances in prolonged inpatient video-EEG monitoring of patients with epilepsy and sick patients in the ICU. Reviews provide specific information on technical aspects of hands-on monitoring written by people who really do monitoring and then explain it to me so I can understand it. Deftly demonstrates how to integrate epilepsy video-EEG findings with next steps in epilepsy pre-surgery evaluations. Reviews as much as is currently known about the rapidly expanding field of ICU monitoring. Well-organized, readable, lots of tables and figures, and even the right diagnosis and procedure codes for this and that. Our clinical neurophysiology fellows and neurology residents love it, and have to borrow our lab copy back from our techs who keep it near at hand. Great Christmas or graduation gift for all of them.
