(More customer reviews)I love these books!!! First of all, they are beautiful! The pages don't seem to be as shiny as the previous edition, which is always a plus if you study under lamp light. Tons of illustrations, photographs and charts. The ink on a couple of pages does seem to be a little off, but nothing major. I've only just started using them but from what I've seen so far it is awesome. Latest classifications and diagnostic criteria for diseases like RA. Also the dvd seems to be very useful. I've only gone through the neurology exam, but it seems to be a high quality video with important information. I think these books are worth it, especially for the price!

(More customer reviews)This is a great review book for the most commonly found conditions in psychiatry as well as covering geriatric AND pediatric issues. It has the DSM-IV criteria for these conditions, a great section on differentials (which comes in SUPER handy at test time).
Took off 1 star as a few items (mainly treatment related) are outdated or not present as it is from 1997.

(More customer reviews)With a lot of enthusiasm I read the new Medical Neurobiology book and I really liked it. The book is clear, inquisitive and attractive by the way that presents the subjects. The shaded color boxes bring relevant clinical conditions, syndromes, common phenomenon that either we face them every day, or the doctors will meet them in the future. Phenomenon's that we really do not pay attention to mechanisms underline them. The Boxes enriches the text a lot. The sketches are clear and simple. The author took a new and different approach to teach first year medical student Neuroanatomy. Instead of describing pathways and regions in the nervous system the book uses a different approach by asking question and proposed explanations for neurological phenomenon. The new unique approach justifies the chosen title, Medical Neurobiology, which catalogued this book on a different niche from the traditional Neuroanatomy books. Soft cover as a textbook is preferred.Barr's The Human Nervous System: An Anatomical Viewpoint, Ninth Edition

(More customer reviews)Newly released Concise Cardiology by Daniels is the best cardiology pocket-book I've seen. It's chapters are easy to read and navigate, filled with nice charts and diagrams. Bullet-points make important concepts easy to review. Literature review summary on each subject make this a useful book even at the fellow/attending level. The book dimensions and weight make it easy to carry in you pocket. I am a senior IM resident at a top program and soon-to-be cardiology fellow. I use this book all the time on my cards rotations!
