(More customer reviews)I bought this book hoping that it would give me some insights into Latino culture. I teach ESL to Mexican children and I am always looking for better ways to reach these families. This book did not help me. For starters, it is the dryest, most boring, most unreadable book I have ever purchased. Also, it didn't have any information in it that I could really use (for example, Chapter 5 is entitled "Puerto Rican Elders and Botanical Shops: A Community Resource or Liability?") This kind of information is not relevant or useful to people who are trying to relate to actual human beings. It has way too much information on how the studies were conducted and raw data from the studies and not enough explanation of how all this data could actually help service people reach the Latino community. I'm sure the research was quite good, for people who like reading that kind of thing, which is why I gave it two stars instead of one.
