(More customer reviews)I belong to a homeschool co-op and purchased this book when i was assigned to teach a class on medical inventors/inventions. The age group I teach consists of mostly 7-9 year olds and i was a little concerned because the recommended age for this book is 9-11..however, after using the material in this book i feel that the majority of 7 and 8 year olds will have little problem with the crafts in here...they may of course just need a little more adult supervision when creating their projects!!I used several of the suggested crafts during my class and all went down very well....there is a fair amount of supplies/materials needed for some of the projects though, so be prepared!!
The way the material is presented is simple and there is just enough information to get the reader interested in discovering more...i wouldnt use it as the sole resource with respect to the inventions addressed but it does get the creative juices flowing and does seem to create additional desire to discover more about the subject at hand.
Whether teaching you child at home, or whether you have a child who has school projects to complete,this can be a helpful addition to your library, and is designed to appeal to children. A good buy!!
