(More customer reviews)The title says it all. This book is a must have for all librarians and librarians-to-be. Eventually, most librarians are involved in a renovation, addition or the construction of a new facility. How one handles the trials and tribulations of creating new space may be the defining moment of one's career. Don't go to battle unarmed.
This book details how other hospital librarians have successfully created space or renovated space to improve facilities. It is extremely well organized and does not miss a detail. It is a nuts-and-bolts kind of book that will save you a great deal of re-inventing the wheel. I wish I had had it when I was responsible for an addition to a public library. It would have been invaluable.
If you are a librarian, buy this book. Some day you will need it.
