Regular readers of the JAMA (and browsers) have long learned to treasure the eclectic weekly cover art chosen by Theresa Southgate, along with her entertaining and informative commentary.
The images cover a broad range of styles and epochs; they are unfailingly memorable. Portraiture is very prominent, perhaps reflecting the physician's abiding interest in discerning character.
The book is like a small museum, a selection of a private collector's treasures.
Highly reccomended for all art lovers.
