The Shape of the Eye: Down Syndrome, Family, and the Stories We Inherit (MEDICAL HUMANITIES SERIES) Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)The Shape of the Eye is an extraordinary book. It's both a wise, compelling personal memoir about Estreich's experiences raising his daughter Laura, who was born with Down syndrome, and an intelligent, nuanced analysis of how we think about people who are categorized as different. This book is so smart about the dilemmas of understanding a medical condition and a unique person at the same time. And it's a funny, compulsive read.
